The Intensive English Institute at the University of Illinois is very pleased to have the opportunity to work with you to bring students to the University of Illinois.
Since its establishment over 30 years ago, the Intensive English Institute has helped thousands of international students improve their English language proficiency. Students in our program appreciate the excellence of instruction by highly-qualified faculty, the diversity of courses tailored to meet their language and professional-training needs, and the rich variety of social and cultural and recreational activities available at the University of Illinois.
Our students enjoy all of the advantages of being part of a world-class university of 38,000 students. IEI classes are held on the U of I campus and IEI students live in dormitories or apartments alongside U of I students. The University is located in Champaign-Urbana, a safe and attractive college town of 100,000 people approximately 200 km south of Chicago. International students at the U of I find that Champaign- Urbana provides a wealth of multicultural experiences including ethnic food, world-class music and theatrical performances and sport events, and above all, making friends from all over the world.
In order to provide you with more information on the University of Illinois Intensive English Institute, we have created this “Handbook for International Advisors”.
