Application

Before applying to the IEI, students must meet these minimum requirements:

  • Students must be at least 17 years old.
  • Students must have completed secondary school at the time of IEI enrollment.

How to Apply:

Applying is easy. You need to fill out and send the application on this page. When you do, we will send you an I-20. Please follow the instructions below to make sure that your application is completed properly. Any missing or incomplete information will cause a delay in processing your enrollment and I-20 form for a student visa. Step 1: Download a copy of the application form.

You will need an Adobe Acrobat Reader to see this file. You can download the latest version of Adobe Acrobat Reader. With Reader a 5.0 or later version you can type your information on the form from your computer (earlier versions won't be able to do this), save the form and then print it out or send it by email to . You can also just print out the form and fill in the information by hand or typewriter. The form takes about 15 minutes to fill out.


Step 2: Supporting Documents

A. Financial Information. When you send in your application:

  • If you are financing your study with personal funds(from you, your family or a friend), you must include a copy of a bank statement verifying that there is enough money to pay for your studies in the U.S. If the funds are from family or friends, they must sign the application form or submit a letter guarenteeing your support.
  • If a business or government agency is financing your study, you must provide a letter from your sponsor guarenteeing support.

B. School Transcripts

You must also include official transcripts from the last school you attended (high school or college/university)

 
Step 3: Application fee/express mail fee payment.
You must pay your application fee so that IEI can process your application and I-20 form for a student visa. You may pay by check, but we recommend paying by credit card to save time. If you want to pay by check, please make the check payable to the Intensive English Institute. If your I-20 will be sent to an address outside of the US, you must also pay the express mail fee.

Step 4: Sending your application.

 If you are paying by credit card, you can fax or mail your application and supporting documents to IEI. If you are paying by check, you should send your application, check, and supporting documents to us via mail. We recommend using express mail to save time. Please be sure to include the supporting documents described above along with your application and payment:

  • Financial support verification
  • Official versions of transcripts from last school attended (high school or college/university)

After you have followed these steps, your application is complete.

Please allow one week for completed applications to be processed after we have received them. After your application has been received and reviewed by IEI, we will send you (via express mail, if you are outside the US) your letter of admission, your I-20, and information about housing and registration.

Deadline for applications. There is no deadline to apply to the Intensive English Institute. However, prospective students who do not have student visas are advised to send all their application documents at least two months before the term in which they plan to enroll. Those who wish to apply later are still encouraged to do so, but they should keep in mind that it may be difficult to obtain a visa in a short time.
